Description
This presentation will explore facts and myths about dyslexia as well considering the neuroscience related to the different types of dyslexia. Early indicators of the possibility of dyslexia will be discussed. Interventions, both academically and emotionally, will be discussed. References for further learning about dyslexia will be provided.
About the Presenter
Jan Paulus is a licensed educational psychologist and licensed speech/language pathologist. She taught graduate school psychology students neurodevelopmental assessment at Cal Poly Humboldt for many years. Jan has been in private practice assessing and consulting about students with neurodiversity challenges (e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder) for many years. Jan is passionate about ensuring the needs of these students are met both academically and emotionally.
